Post-Quantum Cryptography, the EU Digital Wallet and Our Tech in California: Topics Driving Our Digital World

_DSF8601

Two days, more than 300 of our experts in one place and discussions on the sectors shaping a secure digital future. When the complete teams from Monet+’s Digital Identity and Digital Payment divisions gather, we focus on topics with real-world market impact – from contactless payments abroad to protecting data against quantum computers. What is currently resonating within our world?

Digital Identity Division

Within this division, we focus on building unbreakable digital trust and modernizing identification systems that meet the highest future standards and EU legislative requirements.

Preparing for Post-Quantum Cryptography

The rise of quantum computers is approaching, and for cybersecurity, this means a gradual transition of existing solutions to Quantum-Resistant Standards (PQC). We are currently working on a functional security core prototype for issuing PQC Identification Documents, which we plan to complete by mid-2027. The importance of this topic is underscored by the fact that our experts were invited to discuss these issues on the floor of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

EU Digital Identity Wallets

The time is coming when opening a bank account in any EU member state will take minimal time and require no physical branch visit. However, the implementation of EU Digital Identity Wallets requires solving a range of security and technological challenges. Organizations must technically ensure they can accept data from the wallet, validate it and integrate it into their processes (onboarding, payment authorization, contracting). We have already solved a large part of this technological challenge within our systems and offer the EUDIW Connector & Gateway modules, enabling rapid integration of the EU Digital Identity Wallet into organizational frameworks.

Rising Demands in Electromobility

Our Director of Mobility, Aleš Popelka, views the EV charging market as a sector on the brink of a major transformation. It is expected that by 2030, nearly half of all new cars sold in Europe will be battery-electric. For the infrastructure to handle this surge without capacity shortages or queues at charging stations, the rollout of public chargers must significantly accelerate. We understand these market demands and are working intensively to provide the technological support needed for the development of public charging networks.

Our Technology Powers Transit in California

The modernization of public transport continues and our Switchio platform has marked another major milestone: expansion to the American continent, specifically California. We are pleased that, in cooperation with Ventura, our technologies are helping to simplify daily commuting in public transit across the ocean.
