The implementation of multi-factor authentication (MFA) via the ProID by MONET+<\/strong> platform has not only enabled the agency to meet strict security standards but has also simplified users\u2019 daily work. Employees can authenticate using either a mobile app or a smart card.<\/strong><\/p><\/div> \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t The main impetus for updating employee identity management at the Railway Authority was, above all, the need to protect user accounts from misuse and bring internal processes into compliance with current standards.<\/p> As V\u00e1clav Uhl\u00ed\u0159, head of the Railway Authority\u2019s internal administration department, explains, the institution was motivated to take this step primarily by growing demands for cybersecurity, the protection of user accounts, and ensuring compliance with security standards.<\/p> Careful selection played a key role in choosing a vendor for such critical infrastructure. According to V\u00e1clav Uhl\u00ed\u0159, several factors were decisive in the agency\u2019s choice of this particular solution:<\/p><\/div> \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t \u201cThe deciding factor was a combination of experience, the quality of the proposed solution, and the ability to tailor the implementation to our requirements. The desire to work with a Czech vendor also played a role.\u201c<\/p>\n<\/div> In addition to enhancing security, the project had a clearly defined technological goal. The institution required the integration of our multi-factor authentication into the Keycloak platform, which it uses for identity and access management. The implementation team\u2019s task was to ensure a seamless integration of both systems into a functional whole.<\/p><\/div> \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t The introduction of these tools yielded tangible results at two key levels of the agency\u2019s operations: System administration has become significantly more efficient. As a representative of the office confirms: \u201cThe IT department has gained better control over identity management and access security.\u201d<\/p> Changing user habits is often a challenge with new technologies, but in this case, it brought clear benefits. \u201cAt first, users were somewhat hesitant to adopt the new technology, but gradually positive feedback prevailed. They particularly appreciate the simplified login process and the higher level of security for accessing workstations and the agency\u2019s systems,\u201d says V\u00e1clav Uhl\u00ed\u0159, describing the employees\u2019 adaptation process<\/p> Thanks to the smooth implementation and the use of local know-how, the main objectives of the project were successfully met. \u201cWe view the project positively. We expect an increase in access security and a reduction in the risk of user account misuse,\u201d concludes V\u00e1clav Uhl\u00ed\u0159 in his assessment of the collaboration.<\/p><\/div> \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t \u201cThe most challenging part was deploying the solution into the production environment while maintaining normal operations.
