Slovenia is proving that modernizing public transport doesn\u2019t have to be complicated. With Switchio by Monet+<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, cities are adopting a smoother, ticket-free, app-free payment experience \u2014 one that fits seamlessly into how people already pay for things today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Slovenia Moves First<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Slovenia has become a strong example of how cities can implement contactless ticketing in real life. The first deployment took place in Ljubljana<\/strong> (with transport operator LPP<\/strong>), in partnership with NLB Bank<\/strong>, Bankart d.o.o.<\/strong>, and system integrator Margento<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The success in the capital led to further rollouts in Koper<\/strong>, Piran<\/strong>, and most recently Maribor<\/strong> \u2014 each time building on collaboration with partners like Arriva<\/strong>, Marprom<\/strong>, and OTP Banka Slovenija<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maribor: A New Chapter<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In Maribor<\/strong>, the system includes 75 validators<\/strong> and 4 handheld inspection devices<\/strong>, covering the entire city network. The launch again relied on cooperation with Bankart<\/strong> and OTP<\/strong>, and technical delivery from Margento<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
