Miroslav Raška and the story of a tester who became Director of the Infrastructure and Services Division
When I first joined Monet+, it was a typical software supplier, primarily focused on application development. At the time, I never imagined that my future career would revolve around something that goes far beyond software engineering. It didn’t take long, however, for me to realize that every reliable software solution needs a solid foundation — the infrastructure that allows it to run smoothly. That realization shaped my entire professional journey.
Living Every Role — An Invaluable Experience
Throughout my career, I’ve held various positions — from software testing to project management, and eventually leadership, culminating in my current role as head of the Monet+ Business Services (MBS) division. Each step gave me deeper insight not only into the software itself but also into the systems that underpin its successful operation. Over time, I’ve developed a comprehensive understanding of what our clients truly need.
The Birth of the Monet+ Business Services Division
At MBS, we don’t just operate the applications we build — we also provide infrastructure services for third-party systems. This strategic move significantly expanded our scope and redefined our company’s offering. We’re no longer just a trusted software supplier; we’ve become an operations partner for systems where security and availability are non-negotiable — systems used by banks, financial service providers, and government institutions.
While public cloud services may be readily available and cost-effective, they often fail to deliver guarantees of availability and security. In the event of a failure, the compensation is usually just a credit. In contrast, we take full responsibility for the operation and uninterrupted availability of our clients’ systems — not only during routine usage but also in their most critical moments.
Infrastructure as a Service
Our approach enables the shared use of high-quality infrastructure across multiple clients, helping to distribute costs efficiently while minimizing the need for human and hardware resources. Clients benefit from a top-tier infrastructure tailored to their specific needs — without the burden of large one-time investments — allowing them to focus entirely on their core business.
What 25 Years at Monet+ Has Taught Me
Over 25 years at Monet+, I’ve learned that successful solutions don’t come from chasing fleeting trends. They are the result of long-term strategic planning and a deep understanding of client needs. We’ve always prioritized stability, security, and high system availability over short-term fashion. And it’s thanks to this mindset that we now deliver systems used by millions of people every single day.
